Don Box & Family in the 1960s

Don Box began the Box family's nearly 80 year history in the Dallas window business in the late 1940s upon his return from flying fighter planes in WWII. In 1957 he founded National Builders Supply which designed, manufactured, and sold aluminum windows across the DFW area. Don Box ran the company until the late 1980s until his son, Steve Box, stepped in to take over. Steve shifted the company away from manufacturing and to the distribution of high-end custom windows and doors. That focus continues today with National Window & Door Source, owned and operated by Steve Box, using his decades of experience with windows and doors to distribute high end products in the DFW region.

Steve was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from W.T White High School, and attended Texas A&M on football scholarship where he played for the Aggies from 1980 to 1984. Upon graduating A&M, he moved back to Dallas to work in the window business.  Steve has extensive knowledge of the window fabrication process, product design and product development from his days running manufacturing plants at National. His longstanding relationships with window & door companies nationwide have helped the company develop the right mix of products to customers in the DFW region for nearly 40 years. Steve and his wife Allison have four children. Two of his kids, Alexa and Blake, make up the third generation of the Box family working at National.
